GER: Expert Session on procurement

How do procurement processes work in German hospitals, and what does it take to navigate them successfully as a solution provider?

This session offers a practical introduction to how procurement teams operate and how decisions are made in a complex hospital setting.

We will cover:

  • How procurement teams are structured and how purchasing decisions are made
  • Tendering processes, timelines, and innovation pathways
  • How to engage with procurement and key internal stakeholders, including clinical, IT, and innovation functions
  • How to build a strong business case, including ROI, health economics, and relevant KPIs
  • Key compliance requirements, including CE marking, ISO standards, GDPR, and IT security
  • How to align with current hospital priorities, such as workforce challenges, outpatient care, and digital transformation

The session concludes with practical dos and don’ts, followed by a Q&A and open discussion on how to approach market entry in Germany.
